Bruce,
you are sure rhodium is used in catalytic converters?It was my impression that it was palladium that was used for that purpose.And only because it was cheaper than platinum.At one time, not to long ago, because I still can remember it, rhodium was mostly used for plating silver jewellery to prevent tarnishing.
