> The failure of the XAU to move here is extremely bearish.

I agree. I would really like to see the XAU start moving.

If you recall, I bought some ABX last week looking for a bounce, but so far it hasn't been too big.
I still have the opportunity to take the money, since I have a profit, and run !

Rarebird, You've got two of the major components of the XAU that lose millions if the POG begins to rise (ABX and ASL). The whole industry is in such a state of choas with hedging that investors don't know what to do. The XAU is therefore NOT reliable at all right now.

Rarebird,
XAU is having a retrace from a gap, I think. AEM is through its gap, NEM is having some problems with its gap.

Perhaps the institutions are picking up some cheap shares, perhaps its trouble.

We'll know soon, its Friday.

Surely the XAU is up if all the stocks and the metals are up - isn't the XAU made up of them?

Rarebird,

It is normal that the XAU is late on gold... investors are still buying the NAZ. Gold will lead this time, contrary to all past bull markets. The wake-up call will come evntually.

Rarebird, think of the possibility that XAU will be a lot higher if this move in PoG isn't for real. a la, October 1998!
