Pahlmeyer is a much sought after, overpriced California Cabernet, David.

'96 Pahlmeyer is too young to drink. Had a '90 on New Year's....just about right.

*OT* Here is Parker on the Pahlmeyer:

1996 Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red Wine (Rating: 95)

The 1996 Proprietary Red Wine (a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the rest Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec) possesses a modest 14.3% alcohol. While it is a great wine, it is somewhat overshadowed by its more flashy siblings. It exhibits an opaque purple color, and a stunning nose of cherry liqueur intertwined with prunes, black currants, coffee, smoke, and blackberries. Fabulously rich and lush, with a mid-palate so deep and concentrated that it over-loads the sensory organs, this multi-dimensional, gloriously extracted wine provides superb richness allied to extraordinary complexity and symmetry. It should drink well for two decades.

All the Pahlmeyer reds are bottled unfined and unfiltered, so what you see is what you get.

Release date, 9/99.
