My studies of the XAU versus gold bullion since 1983 indicate the "on average" gold stock move at 3.75 times the rate of bullion. Sometimes, in the short-term, it can be more or less, but eventually things move to their average values.

The XAU should be higher than it is, relative to the gold bullion price. Back in late September 1999, the gold stocks actually went up much faster (more than 3.75 times bullion) and did not stay there very long.

I have a page charts and ratios;

< Why does the XAU have to go up three times the POG? >

Good Question. I'd like to see Bob ( or anyone else ) come in here and verify this or shoot it down, but it is my understanding( perhaps wrong) that the typical move for the XAU is three times the percentage rise in the POG. I can't remember where I've read this at the moment, but I've read this a few times over the Years.

I'm sorry you don't understand my boy - but Bob Johnson responded very clearly I thought. Maybe you don't understand my change of alias?

RE:"Why does XAU have to go up three times the POG?"...

What do you men by this question? Do you want to know why the gold stocks outperform the POG by 3-5 times in the beginning of a move...
or why the gold stocks can't go up more or less or?

Jim
