If you read between the lines, MSFT is gaining negotiating
ground by big names supporting its side in the DOJ trial.
Are these guys settling or what?

Dear Mr. Dowd:

IS that the sound of trumpets we now hear, heralding the battle is ON, FULL SPEED?

..."The ultimate sources of such apostasy by Bork and PFF are their embrace of antitrust law and their rejection of property rights...

Apostasy -'abandonment of a previous loyalty, as in one's religious faith'

Well that just about says it all!

Let us enlist legions of softees, and all true believers!
Down with the Bastille!

To All: Now that the kangaroo court has been adjourned and the baiting of MSFT by judge and plaintiffs has ceased (at least in public) and now that we enter into the law phase of this trial please read MSFT's rebuttal to NY State as plaintiff and see what decisions are (or at least should be) based on, case law and precedent not courtroom histrionics. Read it and see how the law works. If this thing is forced to the Appeals Court it will be DOA:

- John, good post. Also, even if the Clintonistas know something is unconsitutional, they do it anyway because they have unlimited resources via DOJ & the American taxpayer.

- As proof to the Clintonista suck-ups, just look at:
1. claim for White House Attorney-client priveleges
2. claim that Secret Service can't testify
3. Export Tax called a "clean harbor tax"
4. Lawsuits against gun makers

- my point is that DOJ's case against MSFT is a sick joke costing taxpayers $40 million that very well may be unwinnable for the reasons pointed out in the article you posted.
