GOD I LOVE America, got only 30 shares from my broker but read an article that said even a fund manager in New York who ordered 200,000 got less than 1000. Makes me feel good to get any at all. Great stock campares well to sycamore, should keep its gains and go up from here. I will be adding on dips.

I suggest you look at the information in the prospectus to fill in more detail. But here is a quick go:

AVNX is notable because of the creative/engineering talents of one of the principles, Simon Cao, who holds numerous patents. The company attracted solid (i.e. knowledgeable) venture capital partners with a track record of investments in other successful technology start-ups. As I understand it AVNX has two "photonic processor" products at the present time:

They clearly believe that their products offer important technical advantages over the competition. Whether this merits their denotation as "the next Intel" remains to be seen.

From a technology standpoint AVNX is a purely optical play. They are not building better switches for legacy networks. They are not currently offering products that focus on the interface between optical and wireline systems. There doubtless will be competition in their niche with larger more established companies, particularly JDSU and LU. AVNX brings its patent portfolio and engineering creativity into the frey. The fact that AVNX has not already been subsumed by a larger competitor suggests that they are holding pretty strong cards.
