Rande, the problem with the back to progress scenerio is going to be how do we, as a nation, deal with the coming increases in raw materials. As the rest of the world strives for our standard of living and producion capabilities, they create competion for these things. Hence some of the move in oil. I just look at how to exploit these things.

I see the markets getting more choppy in the next few weeks, which seems strange, because of the choppiness we have already seen, but it is going to get worse. Much worse.

If you are in the right stuff, and on the right side of the trade, no problemo, so I don't worry about it to much, I always land on my feet.

I only did a few trades today, but they were huge % trades on the selling of PCTH & FTEC, buying ONSS, ONSSW, DYNT, APII...

Sold some gold futures also, but only 1/2 of position. At least I will be 1/2 right..And this was all before lunch, 'cause I didn't get back untill around market close.

An investment idea: A basketful of chips.

My portfolio was up 20% for through Feb. 3 despite my largest holding (QCOM) being down nearly 30% YTD. The nice gain was provided primarily by the non-PC chip stocks that I own: AMCC, CNXT, CREE, PMCS, QLGC, RFMD, and TXCC. Virtually ALL of the chipmakers involved in products for the telecom/broadband sector have performed spectacularly YTD. Other I don't own include: BRCM, ANAD, ADI, TXN, TQNT, NSM, ATML, and ADI.

If you do not have some exposure to these stocks, buying a "basketful" will (IMHO) serve your portfolios in good stead. Check the YTD returns for any of the stocks I've listed and you'll see what I mean!
