Your point should be well taken by management. The stock price drops by 1/3 and you need to instill confidence. The management failed shareholders this week.

On another point, I appreciate the links brought to this thread this week. Thanks.

I get so sick of whining for more PR. The company is doing it's job - they are growing exceptionally fast and making money. The stock will go up. What's your hurry? If they price were twice as high, I'd just be tempted to sell, and instead I had the opportunity to add a few more shares today under 19. I posted this on the COGN thread:

OK, here is a comparison of some valuations in the OLAP/reporting area. For COGN I will exclude non-BI sales:

LQtr Sales Yr/Yr Grow CAP (bil) PSR PE00 PE01 P/R&D
COGN 83.7 41% 3.0 8 43 34 282
BOBJ 74.8 45% 3.8 13 140 79 491
MSTR 69.4 94% 11.9 43 568 364 1309
BRYO 34.2 52% 1.1 8 81 54 215
ACTU 16.1 127% 1.1 17 183 98 453
SGNT 16.0 181% 0.5 8 66 50 143
EPNY 8.7 522% 3.7 107 NA NA 1589

LQtr Sales is Last Quarter Sales. CAP is the Market Cap. PSR is the price to sales ratio, and for sales I use 4 times the most recent quarter. For PEs I have used the fiscal year closest to a calendar year (Thus COGN's year ends in Feb 01, and I aligned it with BOBJ's year ending Dec. 00. P/R&D is the Market cap divided by the R&D in the most recent quarter, and it may be of no value, or it may be predictive of how much future growth you can expect your investment to produce.

I think a case could be made for SGNT in the mid-20s to low thirties, and I think we'll get there, but the PSR for SGNT is no lower than for BRYO or COGN, even at today's cheap price. If the company keeps growing, the stock will keep rising, and I'm not concerned in the least.
