Re: Could this be one of those areas...

Operating systems (OS) interface with hardware such as chipsets by running sets of instructions (programs) called drivers. When a new chipset is released, new drivers must be provided to let the OS make calls to the chipset. Though chipsets are generally backwards compatible with older software (the new calls are a superset of the old calls) the use of advanced peripherals such as AGP cards and ATA66 on board controllers generally requires a chipset specific driver.

KX133 and W2K are both in the process of initial release, it isn't surprising that W2K drivers for KX133 aren't out yet. Given Intel's recent enthusiastic support of Linux, I expect that Microsoft will work hard to ensure immediate release of the KX133 drivers for W2K.

I suspect you know this with a greater degree of understanding than I do, so why are you (successfully) presenting yourself as someone who is completely ignorant of computer systems technology?

Tom Pabst stated: "so far KX133 and Windows2000 don't really like each other"

Windsuck deliberately twisted the statement as
"inability of Athlon systems to perform with Windows 2000"

What is so strange to you that Windows2000 have
no idea as what the KX133 is?

Or are you simply that dumb?

Don't you remember that i82371AB south bridge
(part of i430TX chipset)
has had long standing problem with Windows-95,
and required a special patch to be properly
recognized and run correctly?

What is your problemo, Wind Sucker?

Was fired form Intel due to inability to deliver?

Or carrying a "corrective action plan"?

Or your Intel stock options have an exercise price
of $104? And going nowhere?

Why are you so mad of AMD?
