Hey now buck,

<<OT: As a paranoid cable modem user, I installed BlackICE defender yesterday. I've already had four "attacks" of the port scan variety, and one attack looking for a Trojan Horse>>

Do you have a URL for BlackICE?

I'm a cable modem user, Comcast@Home, static IP, shared bandwidth. It has it's moments, good and bad, but still far superior to dial up. The always on is grate, especially with a home office. Evening speeds are slow but my use is primarily daytime. I do get scanned and have used Wingate to log the intruders, but, I was told by a techno friend that actually made it easier for them to get in. So I uninstalled it. I'd like to try your solution. Thanks,

Joey R.

I just got a cable modem. I believe the IP address isn't static but it's always on of course. I take it I'm more suseptible to virus attacks and should be getting a defense program? Is atguard one of these? I could use blackICE...
BTW, is there an anti virus program that scans from a floppy?
Just curious.
