Hey, old farts. I am concerned about CREE. The posts over the last few days pointing to blue laser competition from Japan are particularly disconcerting. Makes me reluctant to go beyond my measly 500 sh position. Just between us curmudgeons, what do you crusty old CREEtins really think about CREE?

Ruth,

Dependence on Mobiles:

I posted this somewhat poignant piece elsewhere.

Erik Anderson of Nokia presented a slide on this subject at a telecom conference in Boston in November of 1998:

>> BEFORE THE MOBILES

When I go with my friend, normally she brings a mobile with her.
But sometimes neither of us has a mobile. We just go, the two of us.
Or that we know anyway where our friends are hanging out, we always bump into each other.

Helsinki is finally a surprisingly small city.
You know quite well where the others are.

It,'s like you can find a little bit of that traditional feeling ...
like before the mobiles were here.
