IF you want to waste power and overhead, and more time, and more money, trying to do it another way." There is no such patent claim. Thus, there is no need to try to do it another way. But I can't imagine what they might do re a multiple codec implementation that would be in any way special or different that what others have done. I doubt you have actually read the patents.
