thanks, Geof, of course you're right that lu will prosper after all of this. you also make a good point about that graceful, powerful solitary wave. no doubt you know that lu gave the soliton a look in 1984 and shelved it as too complex and difficult to control. do you happen to know what they are doing about the soliton today? also, would you know whether it is true, as i have read on one of these threads, that lu has been 66 months trying to perfect an OC-192 product? I had thought it was merely a matter of choice that lu ignored that market for 2 years. and that all they have to do now is gear up to offer the product - and that, in fact, they are already offering it. do you know which take is correct? jack
