I agree with you that it would be a mistake, and unseemly, for McCain and Bush to trash one another, and I hope that they will temper their campaigns accordingly.....

Ken, as long as we can disagree, without being disagreeable, that is what politics is all about. I thank you for being so courteous.

I have no objection to your portrayal as both men being of good character but, even though McCain has been in the senate, and closer to more recent foreign affairs, Bush will receive a great deal of help from his father,and the advisors of his administration in that field. I still have, either misgivings, are have not had it all spelled out for me, about McCain's military experiences. Being a POW, and coming home from Nam, was, indeed, an admirable accomplishment, but many before, and during, his ordeal have done the same without qualifying for the presidency. Other that that, what distinguished his military career? Most of the medals he was awarded are "givens" for POWs, so what else did he do? ~H~
