Hi Jim, RE: AMD showed the Athlon chip, made in its Dresden, Germany, plant using copper interconnections, Intel demonstrates a PIII on aluminum interconnect at 1 GHZ, where as AMD needs copper to demo a 1.1 Ghz chip? That speaks volumes about Athlon design. If you take copper interconnect advantage over aluminum one should get around 20 to 25% speedup. They played their last trump card to catch up with intel. Now it is Intel's turn to play. Guess who wins? mula
