Chris, I do not think Robert needs you to stand up for him! He's a big boy! But for your benefit, and for anyone else's trying to understand what is going on and what I am doing here, I will! Not that I think I need to explain to you, but because I have no reason to hide it, and you obviously are blind to it. I said, 1. He chose us, before we chose, 2. but based upon our decision! They both can be true at the same time. And I said I will prove it scripturally, if you had patience. I am in the process of doing that! Predestination was never the issue, I think we all believe that. It's our ability to choose God, specifically how we do it, is the issue! Now what you, Robert, and Brian are hung up on is that we have no free will to choose God. You say God chooses us without anything we can do or say to effect this. You say we don't have free will and could never make a decision to believe in God for ourselves. I say you're wrong! So how I could prove my point, is if I prove we have free will to choose God, your beliefs are in error! And through the hardening of Pharaoh's heart, and many other pieces of scripture that we have not gotten to yet, I believe I could prove we have free will to choose! The reason I ask the questions instead of just laying out my reasons, which I have in the past, is that nothing I say will convince you. Me putting my reasons in a post will not work! I attempted to do this with no result! But God's word could! So if I have you think it through, on your own, based upon God's word, prayer and God's inspiration, you will realize your error. I just need to show you the proper scripture, in the proper context, regarding this subject. Questioning people about God's word makes them think about it more closely, and make decisions about the truth with God's help. But you must honestly seek the truth. If you do not honestly seek it, no question I ask or scripture I walk you through will do the trick, short of God coming down, hitting you over the head with a baseball bat to shut you up, and telling you himself. I hope this is enough of an explanation. And I am not fooling myself to think I can convince Robert, Brian or yourself what I beleive. God could only show you the truth. But I think I might be able to expose you to enough of Gods word where God can convince you, maybe not now, but sometime in the future. God Bless, Steve
