I believe in a meritocracy, which socialists despise. I distinguish between earned wealth, and wealth bestowed. I am not in favor of outlawing the latter, but I do not accord the recipients any greater respect than they would deserve if they started from scratch. McCain could have pulled strings to stay away from the front lines. He didn't. Can we most assuredly say the same of GWB, Forbes, Gore, Clinton, Quayle, and so many others who now wrap themselves in the Flag?
