In the Ottawa area, there is much buzz but little more real information than others on this thread appear to have. Individuals at NN who usually have some insight simply don't know or there is no sale/merger agreement, or they aren't talking. In any event, real info is being held VERY tightly. Talk amongst the lower levels hasn't historically been very reliable.

However, the buzz is that we are close to the point where downside is greater than the upside. A sale could happen in the $50-$55 Cdn range up to $60 CDN while an announcement to stay independent could drop us into low $30s or even high $20s CDN quickly.

One local broker is suggesting that existing NN holders put in sell orders in the low $50s to lock in recent profits.

Some of the "investors" seem to be losing patience. Every day that passes without a deal announcement seems to disappoint. I, on the other hand, celebrate each day that passes without an earnings warning.

I would love to see NN taken out for the right price -- today would be fine.

I DO NOT expect NN to announce that they've "changed their mind" re selling the company. There is NOTHING to gain from that.

It IS possible they may say something at the next CC like -- "The company had GREAT results last quarter and expects to continue having great results..... As we go forward, we remain committed to exploring every option that will benefit our shareholders and that includes serious examination of offers to buy the company."

For now, my hopes rest with NN becoming leaner and meaner ......more contract announcements......reports that new NN gear is looking great in trials.....and, of course, posting profits in excess of estimates.

Unless the company blows the quarter or says something really stupid, the price will rise (perhaps not in a straight line and perhaps not as fast as in recent days).

I don't think there is any way NN will be sold for U.S. $40 or less. Just my less than humble opinion.
