Addi,

I have no problem with software patents. It makes up some of my livelihood on both sides of the equation. The questions are whether : (1) IBM sat on their hands too long; (2) whether the patents are overly broad; (3) are there viable design arounds; and (4) where is the prior art. These issues, as well as others, need to be addressed by IFMX's counsel. Anyone know what law firm they've chosen? Certainly Gary Lloyd should know.

"GARY LLOYD has served as Informix's Vice President, Legal and General Counsel since January 1998 and as our Secretary since February 1998. From November 1997 until January 1998, Mr. Lloyd served as Informix's interim General Counsel. From March 1994 until October 1997, Mr. Lloyd was with the law firm of Farella Braun & Martel L.L.P. From 1984 until February 1994, Mr. Lloyd served in a variety of positions at the Securities and Exchange Commission, most recently as its Assistant Director, Division of Enforcement. Mr. Lloyd
holds a B.A. in political science and English from Kent State University and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University."

Hi Addi,
Do you know when IFMX will be distributing the shares relating to settlement of their shareholder lawsuit. I think the last date for filing the forms was in Dec 99.

Thanks

Alok
