Hello niceguy767 and all the other AMD longs, I have never had the opportunity to reply to you before but wish to say how much I've enjoyed your posts. Looking forward to them as always. Just wanted to let all know that I built my first system ever! Of course it featured an Athlon processor. I wasn't sure at the start of this project that I could actually do it but after a few missteps I now have the smoothest running 700Mhz system one could hope for. It's amazing how fast and how smooth this processor is. My internet connection is via a microwave link to a t1 line. One of the most surprising things was the speed increase that IE5 browser gained in displaying web pages. That really took me by surprise as I figured I was bandwidth limited not processor limited. EVERYTHING is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH FASTER, but then my old system was kind of slow being based on the inHEL celeron 400 Mhz processor. At this moment my 700 Spry Athy is stomping out SETI frames as kind of a burn in test. This thing really goes! Overall the experience was a good one with excellent performance and excellent stability as its rewards. I think I will be building twenty or so systems in the near future as all those who surround me are clamoring for an Athlon system themselves. Seems as though they have all seen the light. Just a glimpse of the future for AMD. ATHLON, THE FASTEST PROCESSOR IN ALL THE LAND!!! Kindest regards, CrazyMan
