RE:"But that still won't explain why a processor like Athlon which has won numerous accolades and is able to run at high clock speeds isn't selling "like hotcakes."

It is...demand is good, volume is up and speed bins are great (TM-Intel)

Tench,

Re:"Athlon"

What makes you think its not selling like hotcakes"

And before you mention the ready availability in channel and tier 2/3 guys.

Remember that Intels products as recently as the PIII Katmai had excellent availability AND was indeed selling like hotcakes.

Now we will likely see over 2M K7's sold in Q1 2000.

Seems to me it is selling like hotcakes - and it is readily available - at 800Mhz and FASTER next week.

regards,

Kash

Hi tenchusatsu:

Lest we forget...Intel Q4 shipments flat...AMD Q4 shipments up 35%...

Sing your Intel praises all you want but for a company with 60 times the market cap of AMD, they should be doing a little better than flat sales...Of course, we can always hope for sunnier days tomorrow as it seems you guys are want to do with your invisible PWeeIII 733's and 800's...You attach far to much importance to the wishful projections spewing from head office...Thought you might have learned by now! The Intellabees are fast becoming gullabies!
