Hi ed,

How important is my age, really? :)

From looking at the Nas movement in 2000 so far, I see two, not three dips, which were 10% or less and lasted very very briefly. I've been a trader for a number of years and expect an actual 10 to 20% correction in the Nasdaq, something that lasts weeks, not a day or two, at some point this spring.

And as for positioning myself, I was short the QQQ, the RUT, and a number of individual stocks over the last week. Lucky for me, I covered today by 11:00 AM, EST.

Just to explain, I'm very long the market, generally. I've become more interested in protecting my investments and positioning myself to benefit from market downdrafts as my portfolio has increased.

Do you take hedging measures when you expect a market downturn, and if so, which? I'm willing to learn.
