I was just trying to figure out if Cisco would want to acquire a smaller telecom equipment maker to help it expand the product line. I had once heard of Cisco buying Ciena rumors. I wonder if those still make sense.

Does it need a Ciena or Tellabs type of company to better compete with Lucent and Nortel in more product areas?
