OT Telcom Ventures to bet USD 50 million on web startups Posted February 8, 2000-India Today New Delhi, February 8: US-based telecom investment company Telcom Ventures Llc plans to wager USD 50 million on Indian web startups. According to the company's president, Rahul Prakash, the company is also looking at the option of acquiring software localisation companies in India. Telcom plans to fund 5-6 seed companies and is in the process of examining companies for investment. It is particularly keen on web businesses in the areas of education that enroll, instruct and appraise students on the net.
