Being assigned is a byproduct of selling put: one has to be willing and have the capacity to own the stock. It should not be the objective of selling put. If one can correctly predict where JDSU will be in March, then all option strategies are moot.

Have your heard of CYMER (CYMI) a couple years ago? This company makes excimer laser for the production of computer chips. It was No-miss company, just like JDSU right now. Learn from that experience and you will know what I mean about not using put to buy at a discount.
