I too have held coms 3 years now, it sure has toughened me up though. I always believed that I would wait until Wall St. catches "Palm Religion" before I sell out. What took them so long?

I am unsure when I might get out . I see palm as a portal with their Palm.net and expect a high valuation as well. Palm really amazes me, they have the software business, killer hardware and now the Palm.net.

Let me get your opinions on this though. The general consensus is that 3com should be dumped after Palm IPO. I think it is quite possible that 3com picked up some sweetheart deals out of this though. Think about it, the Palm OS is some serious leverage. Could they be the sole supplier for wireless Equipment to Palm as well as AOL and major purchase guarantees from Motorola? Could it be that part of the licensing of the Palm OS to Nokia, Sony etc. included clauses to buy 3com wireless data equipment after the Palm spin off? This could mean that 3com is really a wireless networking company and not a nic/modem company as they are perceived now. Just some thoughts I had and wondered if someone needs to pinch me because I am dreaming or if this could really be something to consider to hold my position.

I just don't think they would spin off palm unless they felt they could float 3com stock after the fact. I don't think it would be too good for morale to have a stock go from 20 to 100 and then tank again. I don't think Eric B. has shown us all his cards yet. IMHO

Jeff
