OK, I think I have found two candidates that look like they might fit the bill of being high quality IPOs that might be ignored when they first start trading. I'd welcome any comments about these two. Both of these are Goldman Sachs IPOs, which may raise their profile, but then there are a lot of Goldman IPOs coming up.

- Niku Corp (NIKU) niku.com

The IPO is currently slated for Feb 25th. Comes out on the same day as the more sexy sounding Universal Access (UAXS) IPO (also Goldman). I've posted some more thoughts on NIKU at:

Subject 33132

- MatrixOne (MONE) matrixone.com

This is slated for Feb 29th, the same _day_ as the PALM IPO, which you just know is going to get all the attention. MatrixOne looks like an established software company with a great press release history and Internet-enabled products.

Let's watch and see how much attention these two get in the run up to their IPOs. For example, watch if the underwriters increase the estimated offering price range as one measure of how much interest there is. Of course when it comes down to it, it all depends what price these open at. Only interested if they look like bargains.

PS. Another of the overlooked IPOs from last year finally took off this week: Wireless Facilities (WFII) is now more than a double for people who took advantage of the hype over Cobalt (COBT), which went public on the same day, to pick up WFII at around $40 when it first started trading.

Good luck to all.
