It's never been reported, but there was also blood found upstairs. Could this have been dog blood? The way it was told to me it didn't sound like it was bloody paw prints because the speculation was that perhaps the killers may have searched the house to see if anyone else were there and hiding.

I was also told the dogs were "wimps" making it hard to imagine they might have bitten the killers. I'd also presume had they bitten the killers they'd have been shot. In fact, I had heard the dogs were hiding upstairs.

So, the only explanation I can think that makes sense is the killers heard something moving upstairs, went up to search, saw it was the dogs, and just let them be. Perhaps the dog DNA might be from dog hairs rather than blood or saliva? Perhaps after finding the dogs hiding upstairs the killers petted them? This would mean the blood likely came from one of the killers who was wounded. I suppose there could have been a struggle or a ricocheted bullet or something. Guess we'll find out more details pretty soon if arrests are imminent.
