Re: MPEG 3- and 6- packs per NTSC

Do the 2MHz MPEG streams fit into the usual SONET "virtual tributary" or VT format? VT2 level? For lurkers, this level equates (with some additional address overhead and stuffing) to the European E-1 level, which has a line rate of 2.048 Mb/s, framed.

I think that this was the original intent --or more to the point, the original "derivation"-- of the line rate, but I'm not sure if the MPEGs are actually routinely mapped through digital cross-connects in this manner, anywhere.
