Re: Rambus

Snas: You said,
we should take all the enthusiasm and remain a bit cautious

My experience with Rambus was much like yours. Bought into it in a big way based on what many investors, and Intel, were saying, as well as the positive news coming out from time to time. I knew that competing technologies existed, but with Intel solidly behind it, how could Rambus lose? Then came the great letdown in September '99, and I got totally out before the bottom price was reached. Moved the money into SNDK, and have a nice profit on it now. Good luck to those still in RMBS, but I probably will never buy it again, because I see stronger stocks with less risk (IMHO).

The troubles with DRDRAM (Direct Rambus DRAM) now seem ironic when I read this statement from page 146 of Tornado: "Every new generation of DRAM, for example, goes straight into the tornado." Well, maybe DRDRAM is or is not a new generation; one could argue that it is a new breed.

snasraway: dunno exactly what you are saying..but i do know a lot about cree...little about rmbs which i too have sold as i have bought more cree. i went negative on rmbs last sept with the 820 delay...and do not believe i have posted anything about it since. if rmbs wins the hitachi suit or settles it, i am back in big time to a new gorilla.
