Don, I am much like you. I remember when so many of us prowling around here were debating the Rambus story in much the same way. Whereas Rambus (bless its heart, up big today!) seemed to penalize itself by having a "gruff" reputation and making book only with Intel, Henry seems to be a tough businessman but truly devoted to the most open standard practices imaginable....you just got to pay him his royalties.

If the merger succeeds I would not be surprised to see a kinder gentler New TVGuide, coaxing advertisers and OEMS to take the next step down the convergence path.

"Abrasive" is not the proper characterization. "Firm based on justifiable conviction" is a better descriptive term. Somewhat similar to Dr J of QCOM who also negotiates from a position of firm conviction.
