Mexican Business Leaders Lobby for Ecommerce Law
Posted by Rochelle at Mon Feb 07, 5:08 PM PT

Mexico's business leaders have petitioned the Mexican government to pass the pending Ecommerce bill during the next session of Congress, which begins March 15. The bill was first proposed in April 1999 and introduced to the Mexican government in mid-December last year through the joint effort of business, banking and consumer groups, but was stalled due to a request for further analysis. The Ecommerce bill, if passed, is packaged to create the necessary legal support for the use of digital signatures and digital certificates, the two components to complete online Ecommerce transactions, according to Business News Americas.
