Morning Greg:
Someone asked>
<<What does this empty thread mean???? >>
It means the lovely debutante Miss Dell has grown up and become a lady of the Street to be used as their devious
minds desire, passed from one big institutional house to another. To be called upon as desired, or put to other good
uses to make a few extra dollars.
A mature dependable investment despite the fact the go-go got up and went. Short term I would not expect much
change from last years oscillations, they will most likely crank it down prior to options Fridays, then crank it up back
up.
Overall to say that Dell is still useful, hold it very long term as a solid base , or write covered calls as many have done.
Its an individual choice- FWIW
Sig

Hi Greg. You are probably right. Us engineers make terrible investors because we think logically and work in numbers... totally out of synch with the emotional aspect of the market.

Unless Dell can support higher PE's with lower growth, the numbers don't suggest the stock price will move up much in the short term.

Rightly or wrongly, my rule is to hang on to a stock until the story changes. With the warning 2 weeks ago, the story
changed quite a bit so I lightened up somewhat. I still hold a reasonable amount because it's a good company and they still bagged over 400M in a bad Q. How many other PC manufactures can do that?
