Jill --

Do you have the exact date of the Windows 2000 release? When is MSFT doing that "dog & pony" show?

I'm more of Unix kind of guy, so have not been following MSFT --- except the trial part. I think the sum of the parts is a lot greater than the whole.

Hi Jill!

I waited a bit longer and got into the MSFT Feb 105's for 1 1/2. They may go down a bit from here, but they seem to me to have a lot of upside potential. It appears that I may have been a bit early. If it drops some more, I will try for some more at 1 1/4.

I followed t2's lead in December on MSFT calls and did very well. Hopefully this works half as well. If it doesn't work out, its not a lot of money and it's almost as good as rolling the dice in Vegas! :-)

Shooter coming out!

Re: MSFT

Stock now attempting to hold morning lows around 100. Couple of developments apparently affecting the stock. Some high-tech person put out an article questioning the compatibility of WIN-2000 with existing software, and predicted that as many as 1 in 4 companies that install it could face problems. Also, Michael Dell made a comment that LINUX is gaining favor and steam.

With the stock trying to hold 100, is this an attractive entry point (maybe with a March call) or a trap? Thoughts?

Thank you for alerting MSFT. Bought Feb105 calls at 1 1/4. Since I prefer to use OPM, sold JDSU Mar200 puts at 18 7/8. Each put contract finances 15 MSFT calls.

This is another variation of synthetic long, but the call is s/t while the put has a longer term. Contrast that to OCLI Feb240 puts to finance CSCO/Jan01/100Call-leaps.

This MSFT call is pure gamble, but I like to gamble with house money. Incidently, when you roll a pair of dice, you would like to come 11 (or 7 but 11 is better because 7 can wipe out your flat bets). A pair of aces is bad.

Good Luck to those holding MSFT Feb calls. The stock rebounded somewhat after market.
