The crash in 1987 was proof that only the blue bloods will be able to get out of a position in time. And back then a lot fewer people traded. Unless you are mega rich, forget it. It might help if you live or work nearby and can walk in to your broker. Hackers might even cut everyone off at the knees. IMO anyone who has a lot to lose should not even be in stocks right now, at least not in American ones. They shouldn't even be in dollars.
