AMD's guidance had been flat to slightly down; this is good news for AMD.

Flat earnings is good news for AMD

1) It is compared to the December quarter which is usually the strongest.

2) It shows they can manage 2 flukes in a row - lucky because Intel cannot supply the demand so AMD fills the gap with their alternatives.

It should be good for Intel as it shows that Intel cannot meet demand.
