Dreadful sorry, Beautiful Rudi. I cannot do the music for you.

I'm tone deaf. It all started in grade school when I was 9 years old. There was this great big assembly hall in which one music teacher played piano while another walked through the rows of expectant boys and girls, listening to each student sing the words of the tune played on the ol' pianner. As she lifted her ear from near the mouth of each singer, this majestic lady would utter the defining words, "You are an alto" or "You are a soprano" (lower case, not upper---there was no HBO then). Eagerly, I anticipated her approach. Finally, she stood before me, an awesome presence. She stooped to conq...(sorry)listen to ME. I knew the words and sang ever so sweetly. I was going to be an alto. Alas, to my everlasting shame she spoke the dreaded words of judgment, "You are a monotone. You are a LISTENER." I was crushed. I simply could not accept that verdict. But what choice did I have. I must obey or rebel. I chose the latter. To this day I may hear the cacaphony of musical instuments or voices of divas, but I refuse to LISTEN.

I would love to accommodate you, but I am not able. You do understand. Please forgive.
