Now, for the $64000 question: is TERN's profitability so bad because the S-CDMA modem is inherently expensive? Really, it would be a bad idea to sell a system which would save the cable co the expense of building a two-way plant if the price for doing so would be requiring the individual users to have a overly expensive modems. After all, it would not be cost-effective if 250 really expensive modems (S-CDMA) would be required to avoid having a distribution amplifier node installed for a group of 250 users.

Can anyone knowledgeable comment on this economic aspect of the S-CDMA technology?
