Finally listened to the conference call. Very encouraging, IMHO, especially liked the fact that SBAS is building alliances with large consulting firms like Anderson, Ernst & Young (or whatever its called these days) and EDS. They noted that their sales effort now goes beyond the traditional IT manager position, so I would think that strong partnerships with these firms can help strenghten and shorten their sales efforts tremendously. Companies pay those firms so much money that if they come out and tell the upper management "you need this type of product to manage your web development efforts effectively" it would properly frame SBAS's introduction. And since these organizations use SBAS's products themselves, how can you beat that? Good clarification provided about competition - IWOV specifically. Not that it changes comparing these firms' valuations...I think it strengthens the comparison, since both products are needed by firms that are developing web sites, plus of course SBAS products are useful for even non-web software development and maintenance projects. Anyone else have thoughts on this subject, or better yet, experience with IWOV products, or Rational's? On a side note, gotta love those ridiculous questions. But I was encouraged to SBAS's responses....I think they have learned their lesson about communications (no more promises of "household names will be announced as partners in xx weeks") and have taken it up a notch--which along with the upcoming move to Nasdaq national market will make them more acceptable for initiation of coverage. Just some random thoughts...and oh yeah SBAS needs to put out a PR on that new human genome research subsidiary and perhaps the stock will get an additional, if slight, lift. ;-)
