That hardly explains the unsold Athlons AMD had left over in Q4. Clearly MHz alone didn't sell.

And you know what that means? <G>

Cache on die/off die means nada...if anything on die hurts. Most people see a Celeron w/128 L2 Cache vs say a K6-2 with 512 or 1 Meg.
The K6-2 appears like you get a lot more.
