With regards to the CC the comments about the TiVo suit were most interesting IMO.

* They have charged infringement upon a court tested patent which would likely yield quicker resolution although the company believes TiVo infringes upon several other patents.

* Confirmed Thomson's 30MM TV commitment is for the US market and that the Europe units will be in addition to this number.

* Valued Western Europe at 60% of the US market.

* Said TV Guide acquisition may facilitate on the GIC front.

* Valued the eBook market in the US as $100 billion, advertising inclusive.

* Exclaimed security is paramount in the eBook business and that dedicated devices are very secure.

* The company may be looking into the music business with their secure data delivery systems.

(the italics are what my notes have in quotation marks)

After catching up will over 400 posts tonight I'm not getting into the 18MM partial GIC recognition or its accounting as I believe much has already been said, pro and con.
