This was on Yahoo over the weekend. The linked articles provide a good overview as to SoftBank's investments.

'... Found this in a search at crn.com:

"The hottest rumor making the rounds at last week's Cyber XChange conference in Coronado, Calif., was that Ingram Micro and SoftBank are looking to get hitched. The disty and software distributor/publisher/Internet investor share some investments, the Dawg is told. Denise Sangster, co-producer and moderator of the event, put Rick Kish of Ingram on the spot during a luncheon panel Tuesday. 'I keep hearing that SoftBank is going to be your owner,' she said flatly. 'Any comment?'
Kish looked stunned for a moment then replied: 'Under advice of counsel, no.'"

Funny part is, it was written in May of '99!

Surfing around www.softbank.com gives some insight into the level of Softbank's holdings.

foxmarketwire.com lays out how the deal went down when Softbank acquired First Virtual by buying outstanding AND 'private' shares. Very interesting.

The Standard.Com has a four-page article that lays out who Softbank is and what they do at:
