I'm sorry for preaching to the preacher here - just wanted to engage the discussion. You are correct....the opportunity lies in securing the communications and not allowing a 3rd party the ability to monitor, track or snoop on the messages. I don't think you saw my addition to my last post so let me add it here: The BizBuddy service costs $500 per month for two customer service accounts. When a consumer sends a message to the BizBuddy, the message is sent to AOL's servers, which then route it to the FaceTime server. The FaceTime server determines what business the buddy represents and then checks to see what customer service rep is available. The software can be configured to enable reps to handle multiple conversations, Hsieh said. It also allows companies to place consumers in a queue if there are no representatives available. Now, creating a secured environment (even if it has to be a turnkey solution with a pre-configured server or hosted within a datacenter) to Instant Messaging could be a viable niche no?
