OSX up nearly 4% as crude breaks $30. Perhaps the spinmeisters are concluding that the higher crude goes now, the higher it will settle after the inevitable break.

Hey Big, thanks for those SSB analyst remarks in ODB. I thought his reasoning was pretty compelling. The part I liked the best was "OSX prices below 85 are buy signals". Seems to be working out well as investor are taking advantage of any dips below said number. I wonder how many more dips investors will get? My bet is, not too many.

Happy B2K.

Big; yes - over the long haul, Oil prices were/are/will be the catalyst...

I had to take poetic license to poke the Sgt a bit...

"According to Hoyle" is a good analogy:

I think that JL's credibility is now completely on the line; given Dane's departure & the entire debacle with this merger. Maybe the guy's a genius - maybe this was nasty ole swamp/bayou-hardball ? I dont think so - I think it was a merger that didnt need to be done,or he vastly miscalculated the present state of the recovery, or HLX's assets - but we shall see...

The earnings release had better tell it all , tell it entirely and clean the slate. These guys have simply not handled shareholders, or Institutions very well.

It's "show us the money time" - backlog, new orders and how the HLX asset sales/merger charges impact this company vs. the expectations when it was first announced.

JL's got some high hurdles ahead - we shall see...

Low $5's - to $7's is still a mighty profitable tradin range - like 'em - or hate 'em...

PS - SargeK; I was not kidding about the movie - BOiler Room; it IS a real movie getting released...

I hear there is a scene in the movie; where an Old crummudgeon Retired Military Officer, get's psychologically manipulated, in a spy vs. spy manner and finally gets taken for his life savings by this young fast talkin boiler room cretin manipulator ...

ooops; don't want to give away too much - see the movie & tell me if there isnt a SargeK character ?

SargeK - you may actually have been the catalyst for some young online smart ass with a bit of literary talent - to pen a screenplay - now making himself filthy rich - off of your - non compensated idea & your online character ?

Whodathunkit ? SargeK - the human internet virus - coins the "boiler room" cretin manipulator idea - and that theme then becomes a movie ; now making countless others rich...

"Boiler Room" - hmmmmmm; do any Internet search and see what poster keeps coming up on that search...

SargeK.

Sounds like someone got rich on your idea Sarge...

PS - I think Ernest Borgnine would have been the perfect casting for you by the way... The guy that played Uncle Festus woud be my 2nd choice & I'd bet we could teach you to do the trick with the light bulb too...

The RIG cc is on vcall and worth a listen as they discuss market conditions and rig usage and construction at some length. Unfortunately they do not see new rig construction in the foreseeable future. What is your opinion on the old jackup fleet and platforms? Is there enough upgrade work here for the likes of FGH and VRC? RIG had longer time horizons it seems then VRC in their CC as to construction but RIGs rig usage is improving pretty well. But you can't seem to move these rigs to easily from a cost standpoint so it seems RIG is well position with their global positon.
