I hear ya Zeev, on AMD's stock price possibilities in the short term. The downside was too great to keep this position open. Basically, I didn't spend enough time reading the chart. I think I said that at the time and was a bit arrogant in abusing the company!

Certainly not in hate with it, I thought I took my loss on the chin in a sensible way. I do however think that when Intel is able to satisfy coppermine and celeron demand, there will be severe price cuts.

Also Intel will regain the high end decisively with their combination of high frequency on die L2 cache, RMBS memory and Willamette & Itanium launches. At that point AMD, whose production costs are higher due to lack of scale and efficiencies, will revert to making a loss. Hopefully they will treble from here and I will make a lot of money. But next time I will time it right and buy puts to limit the downside rather than selling stock short.

Edit: forgot to mention Via, who will be eroding margins at the low end, where AMD will be forced to compete again.
