Small Caps

If anyone remembers last years early spring rally; the small cap E&P's outperformed everything... TMR was a monster, so was RRC.

Actually "Q" - RRC TMR CRK RGO and leveraged plays like PXD UPR - even XTO belongs in that group; may really surprise to the upside. RRC has a miniscule financal exposure to Ronca's departure - miniscule; RRC I am starting to accumulate here again - sub $2; it becomes a major chunk of my holdings and I just sit for as long as it takes; they are NOT going BK - that "WAS" the risk last year; they have reduced debt and the JV eliminated that risk. That are out of favor and heavilly shorted. Small caps have a huge run again... certainly worth a basket holding. RRC has some unique situations - huge insider holdings, convertibles with a major arb'd - short position. EEX MHR had nice runs here of late, EPEX had one, then retraced , now cheap again ? lots of small cap plays...

$40 APA coming folks - EOG moving...

Over the weekend, the Venezuala guy floated an production increase of 1.07 mbd. Now Mexico's floating numbers. I suspect we'll see higher and higher "whisper" numbers out there for increases until the market reacts.
Kinda like me getting on the scale after a workout and nudging that weight until the bar falls, and you say damn, too much.
OPEC's playing with us, guys, and I suspect they'll have a good time for another month--or, if they're smart--for the rest of their lives.

Slider - I think if the Vens and Mexes try to tell SA that they want to produce more oil, the Saudies will very quickly remind them of the lesson they were taught beginning 11/97. And the Saudies can and will do it again. High oil prices are here to stay. SA is the leader. Make no mistake about it.
Cordially,
