Hi ted:

I don't know whether or not Intel might demnd allegiance at some point, but I do know, there will be few adherents to such a demand unless their PWeeIII production problems at the top-end (i.e now 850 MHz) get resolved satisfactorily...If the past 4 months is any precursor of the future, by the time Intel satisfactorily resolves their manufacturing problems at the top-end, (i.e 733's and 800's) a new top-end (i.e. 850)will have been defined by AMD...At the moment, Intel faces the unenviable prospect of playing catch up with AMD's "spry Athy" for the top-end crown with a "worn and fatigued" PWeeIII architecture and allegiance to such a "worn and fatigued" PWeeIII architecture may prove to be elusive!
