Mula - Re: "I want to give market a little more credit. In a year things will heat up for SUNW. Maybe I am optimistic."

I hope you are more correct than I.

Let's compare notes next February.

Mula, Amy, Paul re Sun,

At some point in time, I think Sun is going to feel like Gen. Custer at Little Bighorn. How long can one company hold off the rest of the computing world all alone? There isn't one company in either hardware or software that aspires to 32 or 64 bit computing that isn't at least developing around IA64. McNeally's company was thrust into the leadership position so fast, maybe it went to their head. Outside of McNeally, who does Sun even have to advise them? Oh, GE (McNeally was elected to their board). Intel still has Moore and Grove, e.g., who I think stay down to earth. McNeally is blinded by the light and hatred for the evil empire(s). It will be interesting. For the Sun people, not to forget that IBM had a stranglehold once that was much stronger. What I like about Intel is that they stay paranoid and don't ignore any threats whatsoever. They might have missed the sub 1K market, but moved swiftly when they had to.

RE: "but I don't see any downside jeopardy for SUN for 18 months to 2 years"

Hi Mula and Paul,

I suspect the impact to SUNW's stock growth might happen a bit earlier than 18 mos - maybe 12 mos to 18 mos. I'm reducing my shares in SUNW earlier rather than later, so I'm not caught. Intel looks to be one of the best investments around.

Regards,
