You know Penni described your writing to me as stream of consciousness- and I just realized I am living in a stream of consciousness. Let me explain: my husband called just now asking, "So, did you get my prescription picked up?" And I said, no not exactly and he said "Why, what ARE you doing?" And I said WELL, I went out to take the trash out and pick up your pills but then I realized the car was all full of junk (groceries that I had left in the car because they weren't perishable, and I got busy, papers the kids left in the car, cases of soda, a case of beer Mr X put under the seat and forgot to take out, umbrellas, jackets, socks, shoes, a pair of underwear (???? clean thank God), mittens, mufflers, empty juice containers, valentines, valentine candy wrappers, a piece of a burger, many toys, some books, a flute- OH GOD- a FLUTE- must rush over to school and get it to my daughter- which I did. Just in time for music class. Then back to the car- which I finished cleaning. THEN I had all this stuff in the front hall to put away. So I did that. Then I had to field a few phone calls from people returning MY phone calls (one was from our old HMO trying to bill me 10.00 for something that happened back in 1997! HA, like I'm going to pay them 10.00 after I haven't heard from them in 3 years- so they agreed to delete the charge. But can you imagine them TRYING??? The nerve) Anyway, so I get in the car to go get the prescriptions and I realize it is time to pick teh kindergartner up- but I figure that's ok- we'll go to the drugstore together. But after I pick her up she tells me she has to GO. And only our bathroom will do. She doesn't WANT to go to a strange drugstore bathroom- I can't blame her. So we go home- and she wants food, after urgent needs are satisfied. So that's why I didn't get there yet- doesn't that make sense?
