Clariti and AltiGen to Co-Develop Integrated Wireless Voicemail Solutions

FREMONT, Calif. and PHILADELPHIA---(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 14, 2000--

Voicemail Messages on Your Office Phone to be Automatically Sent to a Small, Affordable Wireless Device

Clariti Wireless Messaging, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clariti Telecommunications International, Ltd. (OTC:CLRI) and AltiGen Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATGN) have announced that they are collaborating to develop a seamless, fully integrated, wireless extension to AltiGen's voicemail system using Clariti's Voca(TM) Wireless Voicemail Player. AltiGen is the leading provider of next-generation phone systems for small-and-medium-size businesses. Clariti plans to roll out a new wireless service based on its innovative ClariCAST(TM) technology, which uses subcarrier channels of FM radio stations.

This development program is designed to enable AltiGen voicemail users to have their messages automatically forwarded to the Voca(TM) Player, a small wireless device about the size of a pager. The Voca(TM) Player can playback messages with audio quality comparable to a digital cellular phone, and can store up to 20 minutes of messages
in the device.

Currently most business voicemail users do not know if they have received a new voicemail message when they are out of their office. As a result, the user has to call in frequently to check for new messages. While some pagers or cellular phones have a "voicemail notification" feature which lets the user know that a new voicemail message exists, the user still does not know whom the message is from, what it's about, or whether it's urgent or not. Consequently, the user must call back to retrieve the message, which is more inconvenient and costly than Clariti's solution. Clariti will forward the actual voicemail message to the user wirelessly.

"Today's workers aren't chained to their desks; why should their voicemail be?" asked Mike McAndrews, President of Clariti Wireless Messaging. "Our wireless voicemail solution will allow `one number' access to become a reality. Since your voicemail messages will automatically be sent to you wirelessly, callers will only need to remember your office phone number."

"As the global voicemail market continues to grow and people
become more mobile, we expect the demand for this wireless voicemail solution will explode," remarked Anthony Spielman, Vice President of Marketing for AltiGen. Our collaboration with Clariti will give our extensive dealer network the opportunity to offer a differentiated
product that meets the needs of today's mobile workforce."

McAndrews continued, "We chose AltiGen as Clariti's first voicemail systems partner due to its open architecture, rapid growth, and award-winning products. We view this announcement as the beginning of a relationship that we anticipate will lead to even greater integration between AltiGen's PBX products and Clariti's wireless products."

Spielman added, "Clariti's Voca(TM) device is ideal for this wireless voicemail application. It's easy-to-use, small enough to wear, has long battery life, and will be much more cost-effective and convenient than cellular phones. We think Clariti has a hit on its hands, and we look forward to bringing this product to our customers."

This new integrated wireless voicemail solution will be available to AltiGen customers in markets where Clariti plans to offer its wireless service. Clariti plans to begin rolling out its wireless network on a market-by-market basis later this year.
